With a maximum of only 8 students in each group we make sure that your child gets the personal attention they deserve. Students are grouped according to age and level and every effort is made to mix nationalities. With a focus on speaking and listening, the varied group lessons cover all skills, including reading and writing, according to your child’s needs.
The Active Communication lessons use topical role plays, presentations and debates to get students talking right from the start. While the Core Language Skills lessons focus on listening, reading and writing skills. We use a variety of authentic, up-to-date material such as film trailers, news clips and social media to stretch and engage each student. In the Case Study, students will be asked to use their teamwork skills as they work together in groups to accomplish a task in English. They could be asked to create a fashion show using recycled materials, draw up plans for a music festival or publish an anthology of poems. Our Essential English lessons give students the practical language they need to deal with everyday situations in English. We help students use natural vocabulary and structures and also work intensively on their pronunciation.
On Friday mornings we enrich our programme by giving students the opportunity to experience other subjects through the medium of English. For example, students may be asked to solve a crime using science and mathematics or learning about business by planning a business venture in English.
If your child has specific needs like preparing for an exam or focusing on their school work, or you feel they would benefit from working individually with a teacher, you can choose to supplement your child’s programme with 60 minute individual lessons. We are flexible as to the frequency of these lessons with students typically choosing two per week but it could be fewer or more and vary from week to week.
To complement the academic programme, each day students take part in a performance workshop to practise what they have learned in class and to build confidence in their spoken English. With strong input from our Academic Manager, the workshop is the perfect bridge between the academic and sports and leisure programmes.
Students work on a different theme each week to develop their cultural and linguistic awareness. The culmination of the week is the highly entertaining extravaganza in which students showcase their performances on stage in the school theatre.
